all of my tattoos
i have a lot of tattoos at this point. i love most of them. i have covered up two of them. i thought it might be fun to detail them all here since i'm pregnant and i can't get any right now!! the first few will be in order of when i got them, but after that it's a free for all. for a while i was getting one every month, so no, i don't really remember the order!
when i was about 14, i was really convinced i wanted the angel wings back tattoo thing. i am so glad i grew out of that pretty quickly. then i went through a phase where i absolutely did not want a single tattoo ever in my life.
when i was 21, i got my first tattoo. and it was actually two.
a matching set of sailor moon inspired daggers on the sides of my thighs. i don't even remember really being a sailor moon girlie growing up, but i liked the way these looked. the tattoo artist was actually lowkey insane, so i really regret going to her for my next tattoo as well.
a gemstone on the back of my left arm. i could not tell you what gemstone this was anymore. i hated this tattoo and it has since been covered up. she quite literally gave the gemstone age spots? it was horribly ugly. i never went back to this woman.
a bat on my upper thigh. this was also taken directly from a different tattoo inspo i found on tumblr. it is purple and pink. i went to a new woman for this one and it's fine.
a half sleeve/cover up on my left arm. i had this second woman create a sort of gemstone with space half sleeve to cover up the ugly ass gemstone from before. it now mostly blends in. people really like this tattoo, but i actually don't at all lol. it's too hipster twee for me and doesn't match all of the rest of my traditional tattoos. the line work is also EXTREMELY light, which is maddening. i did not go back to this woman after this because it took her four sessions to finish this half sleeve because she's slow as fuck. way too expensive.
traditional flash of a witch on my right thigh. this was my first tattoo by the man i would go on to get like, 20 more from. he is my absolute GOAT. i was so scared to go into this shop and get a real traditional tattoo even though i wanted it so bad and it was totally fine. i love this tattoo.
a fortune teller on my left thigh. i got this very quickly after the witch. it was also from his flash wall. i asked him to give her eyes instead of giving her a strange black out mask on her face.
floral decoration on my ribs? not sure what to call these honestly. like ceaser's leafy crown bits. the guy who did this did an absolute shit job. most of the ink fell out. he also tattooed two of my coworkers and somehow mine wasn't the worst of the bunch. he fled town shortly after this.
after this, the order is arbitrary because i cannot remember!
a panther cover up. i had my guy cover up one of the sailor moon daggers. the one of my left thigh was soooo unbelievably janky and crooked, i just hated it. he made a giant purple and black panther to go over it. i love it. it works super well.
seance flash tattoo on my right calf. more flash from the GOAT. it has a woman doing a seance with a Ouija board and a male ghost sort of floating around her.
a flower on my right wrist. i went to a new guy and got this flower. not really sure what kind of flower. i had to go back because he refused to color it in even though i had asked him to... the color is super faint. i don't care for this tattoo.
went back to this new guy and got a snake flash by him on my right arm. it's right next to the flower. it's fine, but way too much black honestly. you cannot tell the rose stem from the snake body.
went back to this man one last time and got a crying heart that i drew myself. it's also beside these other two tattoos. he colored it weird and the pupils are like, fucked up. i don't like it! never went back to him.
traditional scorpion in my right arm ditch. went back to my main guy and got a sick scorpion. it healed surprisingly well considering the placement. he also added a few tiny blue flowers around it.
a blue skeletal hand holding a moon tarot card. got this from a lady apprentice my friend recommended on a flash day deal. it's cute, but it's whatever. never saw her again because she never made art i liked ever again lol.
flower vase flash on my right arm. i really love this tattoo. my main guy killed it once more. the gradient in the flowers is so pretty.
a hand holding a morning star/flail/whatever you wanna call it. this wraps around the top of my arm next to my shoulder. a classic, i love it.
a wolf biting on satan's head on my arm. i asked my main dude for a wolf head and he came up with this whole image, i think it's super rad.
a spider lady on my leg. i asked my main guy for a spider lady. he drew up this really sick spider lady with a heart and red circle behind her. she's really cool and i love her.
a sacred heart. kind of not my main guy's wheelhouse, but he did it for me. i love it and the gradient in the fire is perfect.
a copy of a tattoo i saw online of yuri gagarin. idk, i just loved it. he did it for me anyway lol.
a lady in an old timey halloween costume. she's some sort of bird, i think? she's holding a giant scythe. she is right beside my arm pit, so that was a bit ticklish.
a small mouth with vampire teeth that says EAT THE RICH next to a free hand skull wearing funky sunglasses. i got this little triptych by a guy who worked at the same shop as my main guy. it just wraps around my wrist. people love the EAT THE RICH bit and so do i.
a traditional rose on my right hand. i really love this tattoo, it's absolutely gorgeous and healed pretty well. i went to guy #5 for this.
a parrot on my inner thigh. this was the first tattoo i got by guy #5. he was out of town, so a bit of a drive for me. i asked him what pieces of his flash was he most excited about and he said the birds. so i picked the parrot.
a really cool knife tattoo. i went to girl #3 for this one. she worked at a shop in boston, but very worth the drive. she handed me her flash book, i picked this, she said she was originally going to school for metalsmithing (sick), and could she change it up a bit? i said hell yeah. she asked what colors did i want and i said you pick. she was so stoked lol. love this tattoo.
a woman in front of a mirror (much cooler than it sounds). girl #4 was also in boston and well worth the trip. this is also flash i picked out. we disagreed on placement, but once she saw what it looked like she saw the vision and loved it (my upper thigh). she's got a huge golden mirror in front of her, turquoise 80s hair, and a big red wrap around her. i love love love her.
a semi-cyborg lady playing guitar on my left leg. girl #4 did this one as well, so it's the got same turquoise and gold coloring. she didn't know what a cyborg was even though she had repeatedly done cool robot people flash... she changed her IG handle after this to include cyborg. #myinfluence
a biblically accurate angel on my left leg. my main guy did this one and was so excited to do it (always the best feeling). another tattoo i just love. it is about the same size and placement of spider lady on the front of my legs.
a viking. more flash from my main guy. this is on the back of my left leg.
a naga lady. more flash from my main guy. i think he said it was like, some dungeons and dragons thing? idk. she's on the back of my right leg.
lady head flash from my main guy. it's a woman's face repeating and overlapping three times. it's dope.
a death head's moth on my foot. without a doubt the most painful tattoo i've ever gotten. but it's really cool. shout out to my main guy, as usual.
a baphomet head on my left knee by my main guy. i am a capricorn and i got this for my birthday one year. i think it's dope, obviously. one time my boss said, 'aww what a cute goat tattoo i want one' and i was like. ha. no u don't...
a bat on my inner left thigh by guy #5. also purple, but also has flowers and blue and gold accents. much better than my OG bat.
an old fashioned by guy #5. he's really good at liquids. i always forget i have this one because it's on my high/side back thigh. i hadn't had an old fashioned before getting this, but it is one of my fave drinks lol.
a cowgirl with blue hair holding a girl on the side of my right knee. by guy #5! she's really well done, what can i say. in the same sitting he did,
a pair of earrings on my left leg. this is the only movie reference tattoo i have. these are the earrings from revenge. i love that movie and highly recommend.
brass knuckles on other side of my left knee by guy #5. a space filler.
an apple with a worm by guy #5 on my leg. i hate this tattoo and think it sucks. it has since been mostly covered up.
a lady head on my left arm by my main guy. she has a knife over her face? she's so cool. i was really hungover when i got this and i felt terrible about it. i bled like crazy. he was so annoyed with me lol.
a moon tattoo on my left hand by my main guy. i actually don't like this tattoo either which is unfortunate because it's highly visible. one day i would like to cover it up with a matching traditional flower like my right hand.
flash of a funky vase by girl #5 after moving to the southwest. it's cute, but not my usual style. on the back of my left leg.
a traditional cloud with eyes and a lighting bolt on my left knee ditch by girl #5. this came out sick honestly. i love the colors. i was so scared to get tattooed here and her AND her mentor were like yikes good luck :/// and then i didn't even feel any of it!!! #blessed. one day i would like to get her to do a matching one on my other knee ditch.
a lady head by girl #5 on my left arm. it mirrors knife head lady. she has a hand holding a mirror and her face is coming out of the mirror? poorly explained.
ring of flowers around my left elbow. by girl #6 who is basically my main girl at this point. i love this one and it healed great.
guadalupe back piece. girl#6 did this in four or five sessions. i absolutely love her. the colors are based on a piece of guadalupe art my husband and i have in our bedroom, so she's more orange and green. surrounded by flowers. even includes a baby cherub. love love love. i never get to see it lol.
a tribal-ish cover up by girl #6. i always thought i would never be the type of girl to get tribal ever in my life, but it's been kind of co-opted by the hipsters and isn't that ugly anymore. it's to cover up the apple. it mostly hides it. it needs a touch up, it healed super weird :-(
that's all for now, folks. over 40 tattoos later, we made it.
