bisti badlands / de-na-zin wilderness
Bisti is from the Navajo word for "among the adobe formations" and De-Na-Zin is translated from Navajo as "standing crane." In northern New Mexico, these almost 50,000 acres of wilderness have a variety of cool rock formations and abstractions due to minerals leftover from when it used to be an ~ancient inland sea~.
Unfortunately, the side we parked on and hiked in from was a lot less scenic than other posts on the internet showed off. Regardless, it was still a very cool experience!
